OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Coronation Street’ star Chris Fountain has been left devastated after his grandfather passed away.
The 36-year-old actor – who previously played Tommy Duckworth in the ITV soap – took to Instagram to share a black and white photograph of him and his grandfather.
He wrote in the caption: “Goodnight old pal [broken-hearted emoji].”
Chris often updated his Instagram followers about fun times he had with his granddad.
In September, the pair took a trip on the Northern Belle train, a luxury train which operates around Britain, and his described his grandfather as his “best pal” after the pair enjoyed a “chuffing lovely day out”.
He wrote at the time: “Me and my best pal, my Grandad, had a chuffing lovely day out on the Northern Belle Train!
“We’ve actually been on it before after winning a trip on family fortunes years ago but we always said we’d do it again, and we did!!
“Creating more priceless memories. My grandad has always been my best mate whom I cherish dearly and I absolutely love our trips away together. (sic)”
In July, Chris told how he had developed an “untouchable level of resistance” after several setbacks.
The star was sacked from ‘Corrie’ back in 2013 after a video of him rapping about rape was leaked online, and in 2022 he told how he had suffered a mystery stroke.
But now, Chris insists he can take on anything.
He told Scott Thomas’s ‘Learning As I Go’ podcast: “I’ve developed a level of resistance that is untouchable now.
“The amount of stuff that’s happened, you can keep throwing it at me and I’m going to keep getting up.”
